URAC Announces Core v3.2 to Replace Rollout of Core v4.0

URAC Announces Core v3.2 to Replace Rollout of Core v4.0

URAC has announced that the ongoing and planned rollout of its Core v4.0 standards have been suspended.

Although organizations looking to be accredited under Case Management v6.0 will be required to meet Core v4.0 standards, all other organizations will instead be expected to meet Core v3.2 standards. These updates to delegation standards will affect new accreditations and reaccreditations as of August 1, 2018.

To facilitate this change, URAC’s full-day onsite training workshop in Washington, D.C. addresses the basic components of the standards, what organizations need to meet the intent, documentation required for the Desktop Review, and more. Click here to sign up for the training.

Can’t make it to D.C.? Let us be your guide.

Maintaining Compliance between Accreditation Cycles: The 1 Question You Need to Ask

Are you maintaining compliance with URAC's monitoring and reporting requirements in between Accreditation Cycles? Did you know that URAC could do a compliance visit with only 5-7 days notice? For this series about ongoing compliance, I will be asking some questions that will help you identify areas for improvement.
Just between you and I, we know that things fall through the cracks after all the hard work has been completed and you receive the Seal of URAC Accreditation.
First, give yourself a pat on the back. You did it! Your organization achieved URAC Accreditation and you have that beautiful Seal of Accreditation on your website and marketing materials. The contracts are rolling in and business is good. This is also when things can start to fall off the radar.

Is URAC Accreditation Right for You?

As your organization gears up to get accredited, or approaches re-accreditation, you may be wondering if URAC accreditation will be worth the effort and resources. As an independent specialist with years of experience helping healthcare organizations become accredited, I'll walk you through the pros and cons of earning that golden seal.

Does your organization have the highest quality standards?
Do you know where there might be gaps in the quality and security of the services you provide? As a wise man once said, you don't know what you don't know. Through the review process, an experienced consultant can help you identify where there might be gaps before those gaps affect your organization.

URAC's standards are also designed to improve processes, ensure compliance, and increase quality of care. According to URAC's welcome message to applicants, "All companies that apply for URAC accreditation make improvements to their operations as a result of the review process." If you strive to walk the walk when it comes to being the best organization you can be, URAC could be for you.

Do you want to compete in today's marketplace?
How will you respond to an employer's question: "Are you accredited?"

URAC Accreditation is the gold seal of approval in the international marketplace. It says to prospective clients, "We know what we're doing."

Of course, if you are dedicated to quality care and already have a strong, dedicated client base, accreditation may be superfluous--especially if you have no plans for growth. But if you want to see a spike in new business, it's imperative to have that stamp of approval.

Are you complying with state and federal regulations?
This is especially important for organizations that work across multiple states. Different state regulations can be difficult to keep straight. By following all of URAC's standards, they ensure your company won't get slapped with a fine.

Is the cost worth it?
That's something that your organization will have to decide for itself. URAC Accreditation can be costly, but in my experience at Arete Healthcare Solutions in helping organizations get accredited, the benefits to an organization outweigh the cost. The businesses I've helped have seen improvement in the quality of their services, a clarity in day-to-day operations, and a boost in new contracts.

Are you ready to get accredited?
Achieving URAC Accreditation is simpler with an experienced consultant who has done this before. At Arete Healthcare Solutions, we work with you to streamline the accreditation process and prepare your staff for what accreditors will be looking for.
